"Virtual Diva" Video Shoot - 2009/02/13

La Plata (Argentina), Feb. 13 (EFE) – Puerto Rican singer Don Omar concluded his visit to Argentina today, where he filmed a video which features Argentinean model Ingrid Grudke, for his latest hit, “Virtual Diva,” one of the songs from his upcoming new album, iDon.

The song, which already hit number one on the “prestigious” Billboard chart “Latin Rhythm,” is included in iDon, the latest work from the “King of Reggaeton” who himself affirmed the album would be offered to the public at the end of April.

In regards to the expectations of this new album, Don Omar assured EFE that he is filled with happiness by having the opportunity to retake his musical career with this new album, given that without a doubt, it’s his best, and the one in which he has worked on the hardest and invested the most time.

In his judgment, it’s a story of overcoming, and wanting to remake and retake on a world that perhaps he himself didn’t know; and for that reason he has much faith that everyone will be able to enjoy it.

iDon is a challenge for him, work that will take him to the next moment of his career, a moment he is not afraid to move on to, and in which at a musical level contributes to be a vanguard with change and challenge.

“Virtual Diva” is one of the biggest bets of the album, and for his video, the singer, the producer and his team, chose the surroundings of the Argentinean Theatre in the city of La Plata, 50 kilometers south of Buenos Aires, because of the possibilities offered.

The Reggaeton superstar, who celebrated his 31st birthday last Wednesday in Argentina, explained that the video is about a doctor, played by Gudke, who wants to perform a grand experiment transforming him into half-man, half-machine.

The project fails and shows the story of Don Omar looking for more music and looking to continue becoming more human, but with all the possibilities and virtues that technology offers today.

Aside from this video, the artist with this work wants to take a step forward and include new electronic rhythms in his music; he filmed in these last days a small introduction to the video which will be offered exclusively on the website for his new album. EFE

EFE
